Eine unserer Stammtisch-Touren hat mich vor einigen Jahren in die niederländische Metropole geführt und seitdem möchte ich unbedingt wieder an die Amstel. Dann kam Corona und die Reisepläne wurden auf Eis gelegt.

Amsterdam is colloquially referred to as the „Venice of the North“, for its large number of canals, now designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The city is notoriously suffering from over-tourims. So during peak pandemic in 2020 I decided that it might probably be a good time to visit the city with much less tourists than usually.

However, I still thought it was pretty packed and don’t want to imagine what it normally looks like.

This footage has been sitting on my hard drive for a very long time now, before I came around to finally put it together.
